The Men were rewarded with the afternoon off for a bit of RNR.

The Wednesday morning match was played at Riverside Golf Club against Dalhousie District and we won the Match 5 to 2

The Team Finished in 3rd Position on the ladder with 2 wins and 2 loss and we remain in the Plate division for next year.

The Most Valuable Player was Fred Beasley who won all 4 matches. Fred Was presented with the Peter Roughana Medal by last years winner Lachlan Walker. Congratulations Fred on a great effort.

Special mention should go to Josh Brown who filled in for us at the last minute when Jack Kerr has to withdraw due to broken Wrist

At the conclusion of presentation of trophies it was announced that Country week will be held in the Ballarat District in 2026.
The event will be played between 14 to 16 September 2026 at Ballarat /Midlands and Buninyong Golf Clubs.

This means that the event will be played two weeks earlier and not in School Holidays as has been in the past.

Be there by 10:00am for a 10:30am start.
Entry is $20 for the 18-hole event and $10 for the 9-hole event.

All juniors are welcome—come along, have a hit, and enjoy a great day of golf with friends!

The Western District Golf Association Ladies Pennant Finals were held yesterday at the stunning Port Fairy Golf Club, with fantastic conditions setting the stage for an exciting day of competition.

In closely fought battles across all divisions, Timboon claimed the Division 1 title with a narrow 3/2 win over Warrnambool. Camperdown edged out Terang 3/2 in Division 2, while East Framlingham had a standout day, taking out both Division 3 and Division 4 with identical 3/2 victories over Port Fairy and Camperdown respectively.

The WDGA extends its congratulations to all the winners and a heartfelt thank you to every club and player who contributed to another successful pennant season. The spirit of competition and camaraderie on display was exceptional, and we now look forward with anticipation to the 2026 season.

On Monday 14 July the 3rd round of the WESTERN DISTRICT GOLF ASSOCIATION Junior Tournament was Played at the Portland Golf Club.

We thank the Portland Golf Club for hosting this round for the Juniors and a Very special mention to the Captain of the Portland Golf Club Marg Tober for her efforts, it was greatly appreciated by all….

The event was shortened to 9 holes, with only the last group getting caught on the last hole before the rain came

The winners on the day are as follows:

  • 15 to 17 years Hamish Payne - (no handicaps)

The next event will be Junior Classic on Sunday 28 September at Port Fairy Golf Club followed by Monday the 29 September at the warrnambool golf club.
More details to come once the flyer is out. The final event will be played in late November or early December, details tba.

Portland Junior Tournament
In ideal playing conditions at Warrnambool Golf Club on Sunday 18 May, ten teams took to the course for the 2025 Pennant Finals. Every match was played in great spirit and delivered closely contested battles, showcasing the depth of talent across the board.

The Division 2 Handicap Final, played earlier on Sunday 4 May at the picturesque Dartmoor Golf Club, was the only result that stood out with a more decisive outcome.
